It’s the start of Week 4! Can you believe it? We’re already half-way. You have done some amazing new commands, you will be using for life! The next few weeks we are going to expand on them. Making it harder for your dog, but ultimately, making them listen and obey the commands a lot better! But we’ll start off with a little bit of fun! We’re going to make your dog “speak”. Yes! It does have it’s uses. Mainly if you can make your dog “speak” on command they also learn to be quite (!!!)when necessary! How about that! Start by watching the videos first, so you know what to expect to accomplish this week. All your lessons are explained in great detail in the Resource File for this week. I highly recommend you print out the Resource File and keep it handy as you perform the commands this week.
To have your dog bark on command when you tell him “Speak”. It can actually be a very useful exercise to also make your dog NOT bark when you don’t want him to bark. He learns that only when you tell him to bark he can bark.
Lesson 10:
Adding Distractions To Stay
Adding Distractions To Stay
In a previous lesson we taught your dog to “Stay” in the same spot without moving or getting up. Now it’s time to add some distractions to that to ensure that he still remains on the same spot without moving or getting up.
Lesson 11:
Adding Distance To On Your Bed
Adding Distance To On Your Bed
Now that your dog is consistently going to his bed or pillow, we want to be able to achieve that command from a distance.
Keep practicing these commands all week. When you feel that your dog is ready you can move on to Week 5!
